That was probably all that these Mesa students needed to do. I in my mind think that this whole situation is comical and they are calling it a hostage situation. I’ll take you home when you behave sure seems life threatening to me. I know, I know… I shouldn’t laugh.
Ok, so I am guilty of stopping my bus and saying “We aren’t moving until everyone is in there correct seats!”. It usually takes all of 10 seconds though. I have never done this at an actual bus stop though with on looking parents. I have done it on a back road though and did sit for about 4 or 5 minutes, although for the majority of the minutes. I sat in my seat not saying a word. I let the students all do the talking, it was a very loud time.
I wonder everytime a student steps on a bus, is that a hostage situation though? I won’t let them off unless it is at there home, so in a way I guess every day my job is a hostage keeper.
